Event Description:

This thorough and comprehensive training is designed for yoga teachers of any lineage who wish to teach prenatal yoga or for those who wish to expand their knowledge of pregnancy and birth. You will learn how yoga helps promote a healthy pregnancy and how it can be used as a method for labour and delivery. Over 100 yoga techniques will be covered using body, breath and sound. Attain the skills required to offer your students versatile yoga techniques that are appropriate and supportive for their pregnancy.

Dates: Nov. 12-14th AND Dec. 10-12th 2010

Times: Friday evenings from 5:30 – 9:30pm
Saturday’s & Sunday’s 12:30 to 6:00pm

Cost: $650.00 + HST (this course includes a training manual)

Course Curriculum:

* Anatomy and physiology of the pregnant body
* Symptoms, discomforts and complications of pregnancy that you will encounter with your students and how to adapt for all of them
* Basic Birth Education
* How to adapt the yoga for all three stages of pregnancies and for varying degrees of yoga experience amongst your students.
* All the basic do’s and don’ts and how to keep women safe during pregnancy
* Techniques for relaxation, letting go, concentration, pranayams and sounding.
* Class sequencing
* How to weave inspiring themes into your classes
* Intentions, responsibilities, and ethics as prenatal teachers
* Required Reading
