Yogaspace has offered 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training programs, annually, for well over a decade. A Yoga Alliance Registered School and a Federal Government of Canada Private Educational Institute, graduates of our program receive Yoga Alliance Certification, allowing them to teach anywhere in the world. All tuition and educational books are tax deductible.
We offer two Teacher Training program options annually and take a maximum of 25 students into each. (A five week Summer Intensive and a four month Fall/Winter Program). Both programs include a 7 month complimentary pass to all drop in classes. Both programs are suitable, for students who wish to become Yoga teachers, or for those who wish, simply, to deepen their Yoga practice.
Our senior faculty members are recognized for their extensive contributions to the Toronto Yoga community over the past twenty years. They are eager students and educators of Yoga, interested in sharing their knowledge and experience. They are always accessible and the larger Yogaspace teaching team serve as student mentors.
The environment at Yogaspace is supportive, inclusive and freindly. We offer in-depth training in Hatha, Vinyasa and Therapeutic Yoga. We respect the tradition of Yoga and acknowledge contemporary influences on the practice. Our approach is therapeutic and our emphasis is on function in relation to the individual rather than on aesthetics. We are interested in using the poses to explore the body rather than using the body to attain the perfect pose.
Teaching Yoga, is a Yoga in and of itself. Effective teaching skills are developed by a strong training in the fundamentals of teaching Yoga, followed by the experience that can only be attained through the practice of teaching, itself. Every teacher knows this. Year after year, we witness the beginning of serious learning, when trainees become engaged in their teaching practicum.
Join Shôken Michael Stone for a rare opportunity to practice and integrate all eight limbs of the yogic path in one retreat. This 12 day workshop will combine: asana, pranayama, meditation and chanting, as well as formal study of The Heart Sutra, an important text on Emptiness and working with fear.
Dr. Carina Löf will teach the intricacies of anatomy, every other afternoon, as it relates to our practice. There will be dharma talks, group discussions and all the right conditions to make new friends who are also deeply committed to the practice of yoga and Buddhism. For those who are yoga teachers there will be opportunities to develop new tools and explore creative means to improve and enhance teaching skills. Register early; this retreat will fill up quickly.
For a full day experience yoga, meditation under the trees, kirtan, discussion and bliss. With a focus on finding your ultimate happiness, we will journey together through postures, silence and reflection. Join us for a transformative experience.

Deciding to do a Yoga Teacher Training in Asia, especially in Thailand, has some nice benefits. Thai culture is infused with Buddhism which is an offspring of the ancient Yogic philosophies. It reflects in the behavior and character of the people here who generally tend to be very friendly and polite. You’ll find lots of inspiration visiting the Thai temples and seeing people make ritual offerings all over the place. And even though most Thai’s are Buddhist, they also incorporate the Hindu deities used by the traditional Yogis of India. It’s common to see statues of Shiva, Ganesh, Saraswati, and so on. The climate here is also just right for having a vigorous and detoxifying practice.
