Ayurveda is the sister science to and medical aspect of Yoga. Emphasizing the unique physical, emotional and mental constitution of each individual, at its best, Ayurveda offers practioners a framework for self observation which roots subjective experience in the elemental qualities of the created world. It also helps to explain why certain kinds of people are attracted to particular styles of yogasana practice and avoid others.
In this workshop, Ayurveda will be approached as a way of thinking about the world rather than as a set of rules to be learned and applied. Beginning with an interactive
discussion of Ayurvedic cosmology, and its relationship to the three "doshas" or aspects of overall constitution, participants will use their own personal experiences as the
means to understand the Ayurvedic framework. Once a basic understanding is achieved, the stage is set to view asana practice and sequencing for each dosha in all its creative dimensions. When considered from this point of view, both teaching and personal practice take on a multitude of new possibilities.

Yoga and Meditation Retreat-
It’s a vacation as well! Bask in the warmth of the Caribbean sun while in mountain pose. Meditate at a natural pool below a 40’ high waterfall. Tune in to your breath as you sit amidst a verdant forest. Immerse yourself in a varied program of yoga, meditation, Kundalini Chakra awareness and dance.
Breath is life. It is also the bridge between our minds and our bodies. In this workshop, you will learn how to balance your moods and your thoughts through refining your awareness of breath. You will learn both calming and energizing pranayama practices, and study the anatomy of the respiratory system and its relation to Yoga.
This module will focus on both self-practice and the art of refining communication on how to teach the more advanced and challenging arm and hand balances. Tuning into the anatomical details of the shoulder girdle, arms, wrists and hands.
Together we will learn to balance the weight of our bodies on our hands, while learning techniques for doing this safely. We will encourage our students to feel just as confident while standing on their hands as on their two feet. We will fly upside down to the sky!
Meet every new moment on the mat! Focusing on authentic expression and creative movement, we will learn how to feel and be yoga, rather than "do" yoga. We will
learn to let the practice evolve out of a deeper sense of embodied consciousness as old ideas dissolve making room for the ancient bliss of freedom yoga through 5 rhythms of tribal dance to move us in an ever evolving and fresh experience.
