Yogaspace has offered 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training programs, annually, for well over a decade. A Yoga Alliance Registered School and a Federal Government of Canada Private Educational Institute, graduates of our program receive Yoga Alliance Certification, allowing them to teach anywhere in the world. All tuition and educational books are tax deductible.
We offer three Teacher Training program options annually and take a maximum of 25 students into each. (A five week Summer Intensive, a four month Fall Program and a four month Winter Program). All programs include a 4 month complimentary pass to all drop in classes.
The scheduling of our programs allows for a healthy, relaxed learning process, structured to meet the unique needs of individuals.
The program is $3000+hst and each of our 200 hour programs are suitable, for students who wish to become Yoga teachers, or for those who wish, simply, to deepen their Yoga practice.
Our senior faculty members are recognized for their extensive contributions to the Toronto Yoga community over the past twenty years. They are eager students and educators of Yoga, interested in sharing their knowledge and experience. They are always accessible and the larger Yogaspace teaching team serve as student mentors.
The environment at Yogaspace is supportive, inclusive and freindly. We offer in-depth training in Hatha, Vinyasa and Therapeutic Yoga. We respect the tradition of Yoga and acknowledge contemporary influences on the practice.
Our approach is therapeutic and our emphasis is on function in relation to the individual rather than on aesthetics. We are interested in using the poses to explore the body rather than using the body to attain the perfect pose.
Teaching Yoga, is a Yoga in and of itself. This program will explore the essential skills necessary for a deep understanding of the practice of yoga; integrating personal practice, asana, philosophy, anatomy, meditation, pranayama and communication skills as the basic foundation of a holistic and well-rounded practice. In addition to these primary areas of study, secondary topics will include reading bodies, subtle anatomy, voice, chanting, and Sanskrit study. The program is designed for serious students who have a minimum of two years personal practice experience and who are looking to either deepen their understanding of the practice of yoga or to initiate the process of becoming a great teacher.
In addition to studying directly with program faculty, students will have the opportunity to work with a peer mentor. Peer mentors have completed a prior teacher training with Pat Harada Linfoot and Scott Davis and have been selected on the strength of their ability to provide students with support and guidance to help deepen each student’s experience of their yoga practice.
