Take yoga in the Heart of downtown Toronto or on the Danforth in the east end! Set in two architectural gems, our warm and spacious studios are just minutes from the subway line. We have over 90 classes per week for everyone including beginners, experienced practitioners and budding yogis alike.
The Yoga Sanctuary’s large roster of experienced and enthusiastic teachers are eager to share the study and love of yoga for body, mind and spirit with their students. Come and join us for classes, corporates, private lessons, various teacher trainings and special events in this ideal setting.
Vivien Stollmeyer teaches hatha Yoga and Chinese Qigong at her studio in Riverdale. Her Yoga classes are influenced by Vanda Scaravelli who studied with Iyengar and Desikachar. Vivien is a hands-on teacher who helps students internalise each pose; to centre, find the ground and work to their capacity. Beginner and intermediate students welcome.
The Qigong practices that Vivien teaches include "Eight Pieces of Silk Brocade," Five Animal Frolics," and Sound Qigong. All welcome.
Kripalu yoga is a meditation in motion which exercises both the mind and the body. Sessions include centering, warmups, breathing, formal yoga postures (asanas), meditation, relaxation, and spontaneous posture flow.
Beginners, intermediate, prenatal yoga, early morning yoga, mothers and infants classes taught by Brigitte Kortright, certified Kripalu yoga teacher teaching on the Danforth for 18 years.
